These are inspiring, fun classes that help us boost our skills and expertise whatever our starting points. The classes cover all types of media and techniques: drawing, charcoal, pastels, watercolour, acrylic and more. Excellent teaching by Jayne whose guidance and notes help us tackle all sorts of projects. She is so encouraging and enthusiastic. Fantastic admin and practical organisation by Michael to make everything run smoothly. I have made lots of lovely new friends too. A highlight of the week.

The colourwheel art class at Ushaw has been excellent. It is well organised by Michael and the tutor, Jayne, is first class. Each session is very well prepared and we are always encouraged and supported in our efforts. I very strongly recommend the class for anyone interested in the fine art of drawing and painting.

I have been attending evening Colourwheel art classes with my wife for a few years now. The classes are very well managed and the teachers are experts, in our case a professional artist Jayne Black, we even own a print of Jayne’s work. I would advise speaking to a Colourwheel art class manager to get an idea of which class duration best suits you because the evening classes my wife and I attend is a shorter duration than the daytime classes. Highly recommended!

I love my Colour wheel class . I’ve only been going for a term but have learnt so much about technique, different mediums and styles. Jayne is a brilliant teacher and plans lessons meticulously to cleverly combine several teaching points into one lesson . All materials are provided and really well organised by Michael . I’m so pleased and also surprised by the work I’ve produced , thanks to Jayne’s teaching and encouragement. .

One of the best art classes I’ve ever attended. Jane the teacher covers an array of techniques then encourages us to try them putting our own Slant on it. We all always produce amazing work. All tools and equipment provided so well worth the course fees. Michael, Jane’s technician and all round helper is brilliant as well. It’s the highlight of my week. Long May it continue.

I have been going to ColourWheel for 4 years and I still thoroughly enjoy it. We learn lots of new skills and use many different mediums that I wouldn't think to use. Michael who runs the class and Jayne our teacher are both excellent at what they do and extremely friendly. It is a lovely class and I wouldn't be without it. Thank you Michael and Jayne!

Fabulous, well resourced, access to many art mediums, with a very knowledgeable, encouraging and creative tutor Jayne. The experiences each week are fully accessible and broken down into doable steps, with hands on advice and encouragement from Jayne. A beautiful environment too. Ushaw College gives us inspiration and plenty of room to work, individually or in small groups. I’ve made some wonderful, like minded friends, who are also so encouraging and we do have a laugh.

Such a joy to attend. Michael x Jayne make you feel so welcome. Nothing is a problem. Their catch phase is ‘no problem’. Jayne’s expert tuition and Michael’s organisation is second to none. I would fully recommend this class to everyone. I look forward to it every week. 💖💖💖💖

I LOVE going to my ColourWheel art class. It is well organised by Michael, with all necessary paints, brushes etc available, ready on your table and beautifully taught by the very talented Jane. The classes are welcoming and friendly and, as a complete novice, I'm delighted at being introduced to all sorts of mediums and techniques. It doesn't matter how skilled you are when you join, Jane encourages and helps you to produce a piece of work that gives you joy. ColourWheel is my happy place and I'm so glad I found it!
